Let’s Talk About: Dee’s Kitchen #1


Hey folks,

I’ve been MIA because well, life. *sigh*

Things have been crazy (both good and bad) and I feel like I barely get time to  breathe.

I think I’ve just got so much going on and but unfortunately (and fortunately) have no intentions of  stopping…

I mean, I have so many interests and want to do EVERYTHING, but sometimes I gots to take a break honey!

In the midst of me taking a break from blogging, I’ve been toying with the idea of doing “live shows” on  my social media.

If you know me, you’d know that I’m not really a huge fan of being in front of the camera.  I do like taking pictures, but I’d rather be the person taking the picture than be the subject waiting to be photographed.

However, since starting my health and fitness journey, I’ve decided that I can’t keep from being in front of the camera.  I actually use it as an accountability measure.  ANYWHO…

All that blabbering was a horrible run up to me telling y’all about my latest project: “Dee’s Kitchen”.

What is Dee’s Kitchen?!

Dee’s Kitchen is a live show that I do on my Instagram page: preciselydeee (follow me here!).

I decided to start this up because I get tons of questions on how I meal prep, the recipes I cook and other things.  I decided that I’d bite the bullet, set up my phone/camera and do live shows.

So far, I’ve done 2  episodes and am actually enjoying myself! After getting over the initial gag reaction to my own voice, I realized that doing these will help people who are just looking for some help with food and fitness.

My vantage point is of a person who is very real – I have a fulltime job that requires 11-12 hours of my time everyday; I have a social life; I have a church life; and other bits that I’ve stuck my nose into.

So, to take out 15 min of my time every Saturday to  chat and make things is a nice little break and really brings me joy.  This last episode I made food that doesn’t necessarily require cooking (one of the recipes does require cooked quinoa, but we all know that quinoa take less than 15 minutes to cool!) and talked about the zero waste lifestyle (I’ll do a separate post on that next week because I find it soooooo fascinating!).

I like to treat this show as a way to chat to my girls and guys like I normally would.  I’m not a professional by any means, but I do feel like it may help some folks.
