I’ve always been quite active…constantly moving in some way…
My tenure in middle school and high school (and a bit of college) consisted of basketball, soccer, track & field, and softball.
However, over the past several years, like most adults, things got in the way of me staying active and in shape.
Moving to Austin meant not only moving for my career, but also for my well-being – mind, soul, BODY.
Everyone here is fit; I mean, I walk into the grocery stores and half of the patrons are in workout clothes. And not just moms in their yoga pants – I’m talkin’ serious, just-came-from-the-gym people. When I go on the hiking trails on the weekends, there are tons of people out there…at…6…in the morning…whaaaaaaaa?!
Needless to say, people care about their fitness here. And honestly boo, it ain’t a bad thang to care about.
About a week after I planted my feet here on this Texan ground, I decided to get serious about my fitness. I needed to change my eating habits big time (check out my previous posts on being a vegan) and decided to get back to my active ways. I was DETERMINED.
Getting back to being active on a regular basis has been one of the best things to come from me moving. I literally look forward to it – even when I know I’m going to be killin’ myself with pushups and squats! Pushups are literally the bane of my existence – but my arms look nice so I guess that’s a plus right?
Anywho, I do chronicle all of this and more on my Instagram page if y’all wanna check it out (I know you’re just DYING to see what I’m up to on a daily basis). But you do get snippets of the types of workouts that I get myself into these days.
I’ll talk about my fitness journey and all that more because it really has become a huge part of my life. I’ll also talk about my passion for coaching and being there for my fellow health and fitness journey-ers. Stay tuned folks.
